High Calorie Burning Holiday Workouts

By |

What if you could sit at the Thanksgiving dinner table and know you were burning more calories than anyone else, just by sitting there?

Want to know how you CAN do that?

Here ya go . . .

Your best strategy for battling the holiday bulge is staying AHEAD of the game. In my last post about balancing your food/fitness bank account, we talked a bit about this. You can give yourself some decent leverage in your account by getting in a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout before your big meal. Remember, HIIT workouts elevate your metabolism and allow you to burn more calories around the clock for 24-48 hours AFTER you’ve done the workout.

Here are some super rad (20 minute) high calorie burning HIIT workouts for you:

Tabata Love: 4 Tabatas, each round with a different exercise
Double Tabata Love: 4 Tabatas, eash round with two alternating exercises (my fave Tabata style!)
Race Yourself: 3 rounds of 8 exercises, faster each round
Combos Intervals: 3 rounds of 5 combo exercises (really fun moves!)

So pick your poison, I mean, FUN…. Report back when you’re done. Leave a comment below to let us know what you did – YES, REALLY. That’s called accountability my friends. I will comment here when my workout is done. PROMISE! Then I will go eat in peace, knowing I’m burning crazy calories while I sit at the table. Have a super fab, FAT BURNING Thanksgiving!

Sara,

Getting the afterburn effect that comes from training with High-intensity interval training will help to keep that diet in check. It’s important to limit the amount of times you head back to the turkey or tofurky (my household has both).
