(In)fertility: Part II

By |

I told you a few months ago that my husband and I are infertile. You can see that post & video here. Recently, my friends at Fit Bottomed Mamas asked me to write an article on my personal journey with infertility for National Infertility Awareness Week. You can read about our journey here. While many people shy away from sharing their stories of infertility (understandably so) it is really important to me to share our story as much as my husband and I feel comfortable doing so at this point. Infertility impacts so many families, yet it remains a pretty hush-hush topic among folks. I want to take the mask off infertility. In part, it helps me feel better about our situation. But more importantly, just like you and your partner, we are a couple who wants a baby – we am normal. There is no shame in admitting that it can’t happen naturally for us. I think if more families shared their stories, fewer couple would suffer privately during the intense and overwhelming moments that infertility presents you with.

I have to thank my husband who has bravely let me share parts of our journey. It’s not easy for a man to talk about trips to the fertility clinic. He has been a total rock star as I’ve blabbed all over the internet about this. I can’t say how much it means to me that he is open to sharing our journey with other families. I can be a bit of a loud mouth and he has handled it all like a champ. Thanks for being amazing Vinnie D!

Here are a few stories from our fertility journey.
