Eat. Run. Hope.

By |

Last summer our good friends, Ethan and Angela Stowell, lost their unborn twin sons, Nathaniel and Gabriel, to a rare condition called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. The boys were 25 weeks in utero when this happened. I don’t know if anyone can imagine what the past 6 months have been like for Ethan and Angela. They have got to be the strongest, most brave people I know.

To honor their boys they have organized an event that caters to the best of each of their strengths: Eat. Run. Hope. Angela has been a runner and triathlete for years, completing all sorts of long distance events. She is currently a Sync Fitness Boot Camper. She is amazing. Ethan is one of Seattle’s most talented and celebrated chefs. Together, Angela and Ethan own 4 restaurants in Seattle, including my favorite restaurant in the city, Staple & Fancy Mercantile.

On Sunday, April 1st they will host Eat. Run. Hope. to benefit the Fetal Hope Foundation. You can come run with Angela and eat with Ethan. There will be a 5K Run/Walk to kick off the event and then a major food fest catered by all the best chefs in Seattle who are coming out to support the Stowells and other families impacted by such tragedies. Canlis, Golden Beetle, Revel, Le Bete, Bastille, The Walrus and the Carpenter, Via Tribunali and of course, Ethan Stowell Restaurants (Staple & Fancy Mercantile, Tavolata, Anchovies & Olives and How to Cook a Wolf), will fill your belly in the Chef’s Tent, following the 5K.

You can come run OR come walk OR come eat. Or all of the above. Me? I plan to run a little and eat a lot. I would love to see bunches of you there, as I know it will be a fantastic event to honor Nathaniel and Gabriel and all families who suffer these tremendous losses. Also, I hear the chefs will be participating in a bacon relay, passing bacon batons, which sounds like all sorts of awesome….

I know I have so many readers I haven’t had the opportunity to meet in person. I would LOVE to meet you at this event. Please let me know if you’ll be there so I can give you a hug!

You can find out more and register for the event at: http://ethanstowellrestaurants.com/eatrunhope/

Please share this event with other families in the greater Puget Sound area!
