Final 2011 Workout: 10 Minute Home Workout!

By |

Wow, only 2 days left in 2011. It went way too fast!

It is only right to end this year with some sweat. So, I have a little challenge for you. It is quick and easy – ok, maybe not easy, but totally do-able. This is your last workout of 2011 and it is a 10 MINUTE WORKOUT. You can do anything for 10 minutes, right?

So, here ya go:

10 Jump Squats (squat down, touch floor, then jump up, reach arms up to sky)
10 Push Ups (on knees or toes)
10 Walking Lunges (option: add dumbbells at your side)
10 Sit Ups (option: hold dumbbell overhead)
*do not do sit ups if you have diastasis recti. Sub pelvic tilts.

Get in a 2-3 minute warm up of jumping jacks/running in place. Then, set a timer for 10 minutes and repeat as many rounds as possible before the timer goes off.

No rest between sets, just powering through as fast as you can for the entire 10 minutes.

You’ll want a pen and paper close by to tally your rounds. You won’t be able to keep count with all your huffin’ and puffin’.

WHEN YOU ARE DONE POST HOW MANY ROUNDS YOU GOT IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

If you don’t finish on an even round (you probably won’t), post the number of reps you got in your last round. For example if I did 5 full rounds, and then 10 jump squats and 3 push ups of a 6th round before the timer went off, I would post my results as 5+13 (5 rounds+13 reps).

Say good–bye to 2011 with some sweat, effort and intention. Let this be your (SUPER SPEEDY) kick off to a healthy and awesome 2012. You will never regret a workout, especially one that brings closure to another chapter of your life.

BTW, this is a workout you could get the whole family to do. 10 minutes of family sweat = serious fun!

Ready, Set, GO!

6+35 (doing modified sit-ups)- which beats my original try at 5+20 on New Year’s Eve…. my thighs are going to be screaming for a few days- those jump squats are killers! Thanks for the awesome workout!
