Can dessert be healthy?

I bet you think I never eat dessert. You may even think you dislike me a little because I live on chicken and broccoli. NOT THE CASE!!! I don’t live on chicken and broccoli and I LOVE dessert. Now, I don’t eat that much dessert, because I know what would happen to my body if I did. But, I do indulge on occasion. When I choose to indulge, I have a few very important dessert guidelines:

1. There must be chocolate involved.
2. The chocolate must be a significant part of the dessert.
3. I prefer it to be dark chocolate.

I know a lot of trainers who tell you to bake a pear and sprinkle some cinnamon on it and call that dessert. Yes, that tastes good. Yes, it’s healthy. But you’ll see, according to my dessert guidelines, it does not qualify as true dessert. I think all the kids out there would agree with me!

You can make some reasonably healthy desserts given my strict qualifications. Brenda recently found a great recipe that meets all my criteria. Click here to try out the goodness! The whole fam will love this one!

What I love about this recipe is that if is made with all healthy alternatives for ingredients, yet the taste and form is not compromised. You know this will taste amazing. The best components are the almond butter and the dark chocolate. Excellent health benefits with these ingredients, while allowing the dessert to taste like a great indulgence.

So try it out and report back!

I made these yesterday for Aaron and he loved them. They were super, super, easy. I made my completely vegan by substituting the butter with coconut oil. Simple, clean delicious, what more can a girl ask for?
